All created beautiful.All created in his image.So why do we discriminate?August 2017 has been one of the hardest times for people of color. From protests to violent riots- discrimination is at a high point in America right now. Racism is alive and people are facing terrorism within our own country. White Supremacy exists and the church needs to fight against it. We must show others that Jesus’ love reigns above the hatred. That His love is given to every individual no matter how much melanin their body contains.His very Word states that we are created in His likeness. Why would God create what He doesn’t love? For He loves every single creation sculpted by His hands.
“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them” (Genesis 1:27).
He is all together beautiful. All together lovely. All together flawless.And although not one being on this earth is perfect, to Him we are.
“You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you” (Song of Songs 4:7).
Our faith will stand.
People of color are screaming and crying out for help, and as the church, we can not sit on the sidelines waiting for it all to change. As an African American in America today, I can firmly say that the pain felt doesn’t carry a sound of hopelessness but of joy and strength that can only come from Jesus. Racism is not from Him and those who claim it to be simply do not serve the same unconditional God that we do.We have to fight against it with love and in faith. Our faith is what moves mountains! The valley that lies ahead of us is thrown in the midst of the sea when we keep our eyes focused on Jesus.
It is well.
Our creator is the only reason I have the power to write and speak those words into existence. Hatred never feels good. It will always hurt to be discriminated against because of what you look like. It will always hurt to be told you can’t measure up because the color of your skin.But Jesus.He tells us we are enough even when our eyes can’t see it. He calls us beautiful and lets us know that we will achieve all that our heart desires because He is a good and loving Father. Trust in Him. Every storm calms when He speaks.

Bethel Music// It is Well He looks at the heart. Yes, He placed a beautiful amount of diversity in our world - but Jesus truly knows and sees our hearts.
“But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart” (1 Samuel 16:7).
We need to constantly look at the hearts of people and past the differences. When we seek to become more like Christ we will begin to see people. What is happening right now is that people are only seeing those of color on the outside. Their sight is blind. We have to be praying for those who are blind to see hearts. Hearts that God intricately designed.Church don’t allow us to be alone in this battle. Help us fight. And if you are a person of color, don’t give up and don’t give in. Don’t allow the enemy to rob your joy - seek Christ. He is your ultimate healer and first love.
