About Confidence.
Confidence - sometimes we have too much, other times we can't seem to find it easily enough. Being confident is an important characteristic; however, it has to be the right kind of confidence. We all have different talents and abilities that have been blessed to us. It is simple to let our minds covet the task that comes quickly to others and not ourselves. In this situation, you might lend yourself to a lack of confidence because you seemingly aren't as good as the person sitting next to you. Having confidence in your abilities, though, is not the best mindset to have. If we have confidence in anything, it needs to be in God. Putting focus and trust into what we are able to accomplish on our own will certainly replace our faith with pride and arrogance.Often times, when something in your life goes wrong and you have been putting confidence in yourself, then you might end up blaming God for the hardships. Or you could find yourself becoming completely despaired as nothing seems to go right or the way you want it to. The truth is, God is working in our lives for His greater purpose. Yet when we put our confidence in Him, we trust what He is doing, even if it equates to struggles and setbacks we didn't anticipate.I am a musician, and I find myself being nervous before the majority of my performances. Even when I am playing with a full orchestra, I am afraid of making the littlest mistake - I start questioning my ability to play and my knowledge of the music being performed. In situations like these, it is essential to put confidence in God and the gift He has given you. The talent you have is not your own - it is a gift - and having confidence in what God has given you is a good reminder of His goodness and grace.
